If you’re really into the Wild West and all the culturally significant elements of the life and times of William F. “Buffalo Bill” Cody, then you should go to the Buffalo Bill Historical Center! The place is a large complex of museums which contains collections and exhibits of general western artifacts and historical items. The place also contains various stories of ranchers, settlers, farmers, cowboys, and other peopl significant in the interior West. Take a good look at old western photographs in the Wild West Warriors where New York photographer Gertrude Käsebier. This photographer undertook a project to photograph Sioux Indians in 1898 and produced more than a hundred compelling images. There’s also the firearms museum in the complex that houses the most comprehensive assemblage of American firearms and take a look at vintage Winchester .38 rifles and even a Colt Paterson 1839 revolving shotgun that are the great granddaddies of today’s pistols and rifles.
