If you want to get to visit one of the minor museums in Crandon, Wisconsin, you should take time to visit the Forest County History. This place doubles as a historical site and museum that has a relatively small collection and exhibits but are still rich in history. The museum was previously called the Carter House and was bought by Samuel Shaw on 1908. It eventually ended up owned by the trustees of the Protestant Episcopal Church off Crandon and was sold for the sum of $175.00. The house was again sold of taxes and then because of a church reorganization, is became St. Clements Mission. By 1994 the House was purchased by the Historical Society and then restored to its previous glory. The museum houses old photographs, family genealogical papers, and old items and memorabilia.
