Oregon Museum of Science and Industry 1945 SE Water Avenue Portland, OR 97214-3354
The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry focuses on a variety of hands on permanent exhibits that feature the natural sciences, technology, and industry. This is the kind of museum that people of this day and age are looking for! Two of the best exhibit highlights would be the Lost Egypt: Ancient Secrets and the Design Zone. The Egyptian exhibit has the interior of a pyramid design scheme where there are ancient artifacts and a life size prototype of a mummy being unwrapped. There’s also a camel replica where you can take photos of and even authentic Egyptian hieroglyphs which you can translate with a Rosetta stone reproduction inside. Inside the Design Zone exhibit you will be able to know how video games are made and how DJs combine their musical skills with their electronic instruments. Not only will you get to interact with design lab software but you can also see them on a large screen in full 3D. Future DJs can also play with the turntables inside.
Don’t forget to drop by other exhibit halls like the Life Sciences hall and the Turbine Hall. You can tinker with the objects and equipment in the Nantechnology area in Life Sciences while you can dabble with the chemistry lab in the Turbine Hall.
