There are exhibits and collections that range from Renaissance paintings to Baroque sculptures and decorative pieces. The museum was once home to an oil pioneer by the name of Waite Phillips and his wife Genevieve Elliot Phillips. Since 1939, the museum has been adding art works over the years and included eminent work from known artists like Biagio d’Antonio da Firenze, Tanzio da Varallo, Bernardo Strozzi, William-Adolphe Bouguereau, Jean-Baptiste Camille Corot, and Thomas Moran. The museum has also initiated art classes for children. Therefore adding a children’s museum wing that helps propagate arts and culture into young minds. There are also special exhibitions held like American Streamlined Design: The World of Tomorrow Etchings by Gene Kloss that feature items and alternative art mediums.
