The largest museum throughout the United States which is dedicated to a sole artist can be found in the North Shore of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Named directly after this artist, the Andy Warhol Museum holds a wide and permanent collection of archives and art done by the Pittsburgh born pop art icon. It is one of the 4 Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh and is also a collaborative project of the Dia Center for the Arts, Carnegie Institute and the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.

But aside from the ordinary thought that it is a simple pop art museum, the Andy Warhol Museum is so much more. In fact, it serves as an important forum which helps diverse its audiences which compose of scholars, artists and the general public. Your visit to the museum will consist of you being able to witness the different collections which the famed artist has been able to produce throughout his life’s work. Over 12,000 artworks done solely by Andy Warhol can be found in the museum. This includes drawings, paintings, prints, film, videotapes, sculptures, photographs, and other items which document the life of the artist.

A visit to the museum tickets costs $15 for adults, $9 for seniors (above 55 years old), $8 for students (with ID) and $8 for children (between 3 and 18 years old). The museum is open Tuesdays to Sundays from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm. If you would like to save money on your entrance, you can visit the museum on Fridays from 5-10pm as they offer half price entrance fees.
